First Post

First Post

Ok, so this is the first of probably many posts that are created out of boredom. Basically I just wanted to use this to create discussion about hip-hop and whatever music people want to talk about. Also to try and maybe help some artists get some more exposure. We shall see. Anyway today i present the 5 artists (in no particular order) I've been jamming to this week that you may have not heard of.

PS all videos are at the bottom of the page.

Shad

I remember my buddy DJ Veracious hooked me up with a youtube link to this guy a year back for the track "i dont really like to." It was dope as expected so I figured I would have to check out some other jams from this Canadian lyricist. I ended up getting both of his cds and eagerly waiting on a 3rd to come out. Check out this vid for "Brother."

Wale

Wale is from around my hometown area of DC (well im from northern VA but whatever) Hes kinda hit or miss for me. But when hes on hes definitely on fire.

Termanology

This guy was one of those people that caught my interest because i saw "produced by dj premier" That usually sells me write there (hell i bought group home's livin proof. you think it was because of the lyrics? HAH!). I'd like to hear an album from this guy soon so hurry the hell up! My jam right now though actually isnt produced by premier its done by mr west. Only problem is "95/96 bad boy invented the remix" umm what about de la soul with "buddy" hmm? Ill write it off as a slip of the tongue.

Rhymefest

Ok so im reaching here. I'm sure theres a good amount of people who know who he is but still, not enough people talk about him. I think hes pretty damn dope. "Blue Collar" was a dope ass cd that somehow had kanye west features and still didnt sell too well. Maybe El Che (hopefully out in 09) will give him the recognition he deserves. Check out "Fever" off of "Blue Collar"

Percee P

This dude has been around forever. According to his bio hes been rapping since 1979 at the age of 8. First album I heard him on was Lord Finesse's Return Of The Funky Man. His flow is quite nuts. He finally was able to release his solo cd "perseverance" in 2007 which was produced by good ol Madlib. Check out "2 brothers from the gutter" PS I do believe thats the Contra intro as the sample

Aiiiiiiiiiight im out! Catch yall next time
